    Your life stays as ordinary .md files in folders you choose. Open them in Obsidian, any editor or GitHub; Life OS only reads them.
    Nothing uploads
    The Mac app and the browser version both read your vault on your device. There's no Life OS account and no server holding your notes. If you connect Claude to Ask My Life, you confirm before anything is sent.
    Every claim shows its source
    Open any card to see the note behind it. Demo lives mark each line Public, Self-reported, Derived or Demo, and a demo is never shown as fact.
    Read-only unless you say so
    Life OS only saves changes after you switch saving on for that vault, and it keeps the previous version of every note first. The optional MCP server follows the same rule.

    Encrypted cloud sync across phone and desktop is on the roadmap. It isn't in this preview, and nothing here pretends it is.

    This preview isn't notarised by Apple yet, so macOS asks before opening it the first time.

    1. Open the download and drag Life OS into Applications.
    2. Open Life OS. If macOS says it can't check the app, choose Done.
    3. Go to System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.

    Comfortable in Terminal? This does the same thing:
